The TNA sale negotiations have been a hot topic for weeks now, and it’s been rumored that WWE is interested in purchasing TNA’s tape library.
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross mentioned on the latest episode of The Ross Report that a source says WWE is close to purchasing the TNA tape library.
According to the source the deal is imminent. Jim Ross made it a point to say that at this point the deal is an unconfirmed rumor, but that the sources who gave him the information are normally “very, very reliable.”
WWE would only be purchasing the tape library, not the company itself.
Billy Corgan is rumored to be the frontrunner to become the new majority owner of TNA, and he’s made it well known that he plans to change the name of the company if he becomes the owner.
Justin LaBar of Wrestlezone is also reporting that WWE is set to purchase the tape library, and that Corgan is set to become the majority owner.
Just got a text saying #WWE to buy TNA video library & Billy Corgan is going to be new majority owner of TNA that he'll likely rebrand. Wow!
