Stone Cold Steve Austin is without a doubt one of the biggest names associated with WWE’s Attitude Era, and Chyna also rose to fame during the same time period.
During her run with WWE Chyna faced quite a few male competitors, and she also became the only woman to hold the Intercontinental Championship.
Jim Ross talked about a possible Chyna vs. Steve Austin match on a recent episode of Grilling JR, and he noted that even though they got along he doesn’t think Steve had any interest in facing her.
“No, Conrad, I do not [think Steve Austin wanted to face her]. Not no – hell no. Steve was in that original trio of guys [with Shawn Michaels and Triple H] that sat there and talked to Chyna way back in the day when we began this story. I don’t think they ever had a cross word but Steve is old school enough that he’s not gonna do that.”
At one point in her career Chyna became the number one contender on the road to SummerSlam 1999, but she lost her spot to Mankind, who went on to defeat Steve Austin and Triple H to win the WWE Championship at the event.
