When Brock Lesnar first debuted in WWE he quickly established himself as one of the top stars by running through the biggest names the company had to offer. On his path to becoming WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar defeated Hulk Hogan in August of 2002, but it appears that Hogan had no interest in losing to Lesnar again.

Bruce Prichard revealed that an idea was pitched for Hulk Hogan to face Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series in 2002, but the match never happened because Hogan only wanted to come back if he could beat Lesnar. Jim Ross recently discussed the Brock Lesnar vs. Hulk Hogan feud on Grilling JR and he noted that it may have been a blessing in disguise that they didn’t face off at Survivor Series.

[On Hogan vs Lesnar never happening again cause Hogan refused to lose twice] “Really? You’re f*cking Hulk Hogan. You’re over, you’ll be over for eternity and beyond. And in three or four days a normal dude is going to forget, really it’s not gonna become a big issue whatsoever about who won and who lost, especially who lost. You embellish the winner and all that good stuff.

I don’t know, I never had a good feeling about that pairing, and it might have been a blessing in disguise that the match didn’t happen.”
