Talk of Jim Ross joining AEW has been making the rounds for months now, and the WWE Hall of Famer recently confirmed that he has been in talks with the company.
The latest episode of The Road To Double Or Nothing focuses on the broadcast team for AEW, and it was announced that Alicia Atout, Alex Marvez and Excalibur will be working with the company.
It was also announced that Justin Roberts will be working as the ring announcer for Double Or Nothing. Brandi Rhodes noted that she made the decision to hire Roberts as the AEW ring announcer.
Cody Rhodes went on to say that AEW is going to get their hands on the greatest commentator of all time, and they showed footage of Cody arriving at Jim Ross’ house.
Ross said he wants to be involved with mentoring the roster, and the opportunity to help present something new for pro wrestling was more than he could pass up.
When asked why Cody is so set on Jim Ross, Cody responded by saying, “because he’s Jim f**king Ross.”
According to the official press release, Jim Ross signed a three year contract that the press release referred to as “the most lucrative deal in pro wrestling commentary history.”
