Impact Wrestling is a hot topic right now, for all the wrong reasons. The company just lost three of their top stars, as Drew Galloway confirmed he’s done with Impact and The Broken Hardys are leaving as well.
Anthem Sports and Entertainment recently acquired Impact Wrestling and the company has undergone some significant changes over the past few weeks. Jeff Jarrett is once again steering the ship for Impact and he has put together his own creative team who will be shaping the future of the company.
Drew Galloway and The Broken Hardys have been a huge part of Impact Wrestling programming over the past year and fans seem to love the content they create. Moving forward without The Hardys and Galloway will certainly be a big blow to Impact Wrestling and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross noted in his latest blog that expects more stars to part ways with the company.
“Expect more talents to likely leave Impact Wrestling as that is the norm for the biz when creative and management changes are made. It’s akin to a sports team replacing their coaching staff with a new one. The new style/philosophy doesn’t always fit for all the incumbent talents.”
Of course fans all over the world are calling for Matt and Jeff Hardy to return to WWE and it’s been reported that WWE officials are interested in bringing the team back.
There’s no denying that The Broken Hardys are one of the most popular acts in all of wrestling right now and WWE would be lucky to have them. It remains to be seen if they will return, but Ross also noted that they will still be able to make a significant amount of money on the independent scene if they don’t sign new deals with WWE.
“Anxious to see where the Hardy Boys wind up but make no mistake that they will have no issues finding, viable work from a variety of promoters. Matt and Jeff would be a great addition to a WWE roster specifically if WWE is committed to Hardy friendly creative for the duo who started in WWE and who I would suggest should wind up there when the time comes. This is a big loss for Impact if this goes down this way. This would be a significant “get” for WWE if WWE can close the deal. But make no mistake, with the Indy scene as it currently is, Matt and Jeff and create plenty of good paydays doing their own thing especially when it pertains to their merchandise business.”
