According to The Wrestling Observer, Jeff Jarrett reportedly had a few brief conversations with former UFC star Chael Sonnen about working the big New Japan Pro Wrestling Tokyo Dome show in January with Jim Ross. Sonnen felt it was a courtesy call from someone who wasn’t really familiar with his work.
While it is Jarrett’s decision who works the pay-per-view with Ross, Ross has been given significant input into the decision. Jarrett and Ross were both leaning towards Mike Tenay as the leading candidate at one point.
Regarding rumors of Kevin Kelly working with Ross on commentary, Ring of Honor will be taping TV that week so Kelly isn’t even a possibility.
