Jim Cornette Now Finished With Impact Wrestling

Impact Wrestling announced today that Bound For Glory will take place from the Aberdeen Pavilion in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and as we recently noted Jim Cornette hasn’t been to Canada in a number of years. Cornette’s circumstances put his status for BFG in doubt, and now it’s been confirmed that Jim Cornette is finished with Impact Wrestling.

In 2010 Jim Cornette was turned away at the border after the authorities ran his records, which included a number of assaults due to fights he got into with fans who attacked him during his time as a manager in the 80s back when kayfabe was still alive and well.

Due to his inability to travel to Canada, Cornette will not be able to attend BFG or the next set of TV tapings and F4Wonline.com reports that he’s done with the company. Cornette confirmed there is no heat between him and the company and his departure is just a matter of circumstances.

Jim Cornette has been featured on Impact as an authority figure, and he and Jeff Jarrett reportedly agreed that he would be part of the tapings in November, but with Jarrett taking an indefinite hiatus from the company Cornette was unsure of his status.

With Jarrett out creative is now being handled by Scott D’Amore and Sonjay Dutt, and it’s said that they’re more focused on in ring action rather than promoting storylines that feature authority figures in the spotlight.

Cornette agreed to travel to Nashville to film footage for his storyline exit, but as of right now nothing is in the plans.
