This week’s episode of GFW Impact was the annual live Destination X special, and GFW promised some surprises for fans. Earlier this week Alberto El Patron was stripped of the GFW World Championship, and the company promised that Bruce Prichard would be making a “monumental announcement” regarding the fate of the title moving forward.
Prichard made his way down to the ring on Thursday night, but things didn’t exactly go his way.
It was rumored that Jim Cornette could be showing up at Destination X, and he did indeed make an appearance in the Impact Zone. As Bruce Prichard was making his big announcement, he was interrupted by Jim Cornette who came to the ring and did his Jim Cornette thing.
Cornette got fired up and he told Bruce Prichard that the company gave him an inch, and he took a mile, so he’s giving him a foot out the door. Jim fired Bruce Prichard, and he told him to send his regards to his kids once he returned to Houston.
Jim then got on the mic and announced that no one will be handed anything, and the stars of GFW will have to fight for their opportunities. He continued by saying that next week a new World Champion will be decided via a 20 man gauntlet match on Impact.
