Over the last few years Jey Uso has taken his career to the next level by breaking out into singles competition. In 2025, Jey Uso won the 30 man Royal Rumble match and he went on to defeat Gunther to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 41.

On the road to WrestleMania 41, Jey Uso was heavily criticized for some of his performances in the ring. During the most recent episode of What Do You Wanna Talk About? with Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso addressed the criticism and admitted that he sometimes gets blown up during matches.

“Aye, that (WWE) Unreal stuff popped me though because when I watched it — I miss a rope. Damn, I blew up. Hit the damn top rope. Look, look, I’ll say it, hell yeah I be tired. Damn, we only wrestle one time out the week. I had to get my stamina up but you know, damn, it happens.”

After winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41, Jey Uso later dropped the title to Gunther in June of 2025. WWE continued to feature Jey in the title picture in the months that followed, but ultimately he returned to the tag team division in December of 2025, and he is currently one half of the WWE World Tag Team Champions alongside his brother Jimmy Uso.

Despite the fact that Jey is currently in the tag team division he noted that he still considers himself a top guy when he said, “We’re all still competing. Especially with you (Cody Rhodes), I still compete with you. Man, come on, man. Come on. I still compete with you, I still compete with Seth (Rollins). I look at the top homies. Man, I consider myself a top guy, and internet, whatever. Y’all say — whatever… I’m him. I’m ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso now. Y’all know which twin I am now.”
