WWE announced yesterday that Jerry Lawler will be moving to SmackDown when he returns. He will be a part of the team with Michael Cole and Byron Saxton.
Although some were shocked by this move, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is claiming this is something WWE has wanted to do for a long time.
“They wanted to get rid of Lawler on Raw for a long time, but after the heart attack, they figured they couldn’t,” said Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer on the F4WOnline.com message board in a thread on his site about the announce team changes. “This relaunch of Smackdown gave them the chance.”
