If you want to list the people who were influential in helping make the Broken Universe a reality in Impact Wrestling then any list you make has to include Jeremy Borash because he was instrumental in many behind the scenes aspects of the angle. You might know Borash best as the announcer for Impact Wrestling but he has a brilliant mind for the pro wrestling business, can read people, and is one of the hardest working people Impact Wrestling had on their payroll.
Impact Wrestling has gone through a ton of changes in recent months and now Jeremy Borash has left the company in what could be considered a surprise move. But it was an amazing opportunity for WWE and they seized it in a big way.
PW Insider reports that Jeremy Borash has left Impact Wrestling and signed a deal with WWE. Borash has been with Impact Wrestling since 2002 which is pretty much since the inception of the company, but it looks like this newest change of guard also means his exit.
Borash was backstage at events in Philly this last weekend and when asked what he was doing there, he simply said he was visiting friends. But now it looks like that was just something he was telling people at the time because he has indeed been signed by WWE.
It is interesting because Borash was doing commentary voiceovers for Impact Wrestling this past Thursday so there very well be more audio of him to come on Impact Wrestling. He was also at the House Of Hardcore tapings in Philly on Friday which turned out to most likely be his final duties with Impact Wrestling.
Matt Hardy has mentioned how he would love to bring Borash in before, and it looks like he’s getting his wish.
It wasn’t clear what role Jeremy Borash will have with WWE at this point, but his inclusion in the product could mean great things. He was an integral part of any success TNA/GFW/Impact Wrestling had over the past fifteen years and it is very exciting to know this backstage workhorse is with WWE. But needless to say, it’s still a tremendous loss for Impact Wrestling.
