Jeff Jarrett Reacts To Impact Rebranding To TNA Wrestling

For some time TNA was a wrestling company with many loyal followers, but over the years the history of the brand has become complicated. Even though the company was rebranded to Impact Wrestling a lot of fans still referred to the promotion as TNA.

Over the weekend during the annual Bound For Glory pay-per-view Impact Wrestling made a big announcement when it was revealed that the TNA brand will be returning in 2024.

Jeff Jarrett was one of the co-founders of TNA and during a recent episode of his My World podcast he explained that he tried to tell Impact Wrestling’s parent company Anthem that the Impact brand was dead on arrival.

“Impact Wrestling was dead on arrival. I said, ‘I just think Impact Wrestling is dead.’ I had those conversations in-depth. I gave them the history, but they were well aware of it. They [Anthem] bought the show ‘Impact!’ from day one.”

“They never, ever, quit calling it TNA Wrestling. The double entendre isn’t near as prevalent outside of the U.S. in so many markets. So [with] all the information in my head, that’s why I was like, ‘Okay? So now after five or six years, you’re rebranding it? That would be a little bit of a surprise to me, but end of the day, it’s all execution.”

Jarrett went on to say that he’s excited to see what Scott D’Amore’s vision is for the TNA brand when he added, “What is Scott’s vision? That’s what I’m most excited about. I know what mine was … At the end of the day, it’s the story. I was blessed with fantastic talent [like] AJ Styles and Samoa Joe, but I’m excited because it’s good for the industry. Change is good.”
