This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live featured a very special segment, as Jeff Hardy celebrated the 20th anniversary of his WWE career.
Michael Cole introduced Jeff Hardy, and they both stood in the ring and watched a video package looking back at highlights from Jeff’s career as the roster watched from the entrance area.
After the video package was over the fans chanted “Hardy, Hardy, Hardy” and Jeff thanked everyone.
Jeff said that through his highest of highs and lowest of lows the fans stuck by his side, and for that he is eternally grateful.
He said this his speech is far from a retirement speech, and he’s not sure what’s going to happen in the future, but we’ll all find out together.
That’s when Samoa Joe interrupted and cut through the SmackDown roster who were showing respect to Jeff.
Joe took a shot at Jeff’s past issues with substance abuse, and Shane McMahon tried to hold him back, but Jeff told him to let Joe go.
Samoa Joe said that the fact that Jeff allows himself to be put on a pedestal after all the mistakes he’s made makes him sick.
Jeff fired back and told him that he lives for the moment, then challenged Joe to make a moment right now, but Joe walked away.
Judging from the way the segment played out it certainly seems that we’ll be seeing more from Jeff and Samoa Joe in the weeks to come.
