When The Hardys returned to WWE in 2017 they returned with a lot of momentum on their side. However, towards the end of Jeff Hardy’s run with WWE it seemed that the company didn’t have any solid plans for him. At one point Jeff Hardy found himself in the 24/7 Title picture, and fans did not react well to seeing Jeff chase the belt.
The Charismatic Enigma opened up about his honest reaction to the segment on Talk Is Jericho while making it clear that he was crushed that WWE put him in the 24/7 Title hunt.
“I feel bad for saying this because I’m so easy to work with I’ll do pretty much whatever, but I was pretty crushed that day. I was like ‘okay this is it. I don’t know why I’m here, this is crazy, they’re really doing this to me.’ And that’s not an arrogant thing to say, I felt like I just – I felt ashamed like I shouldn’t be doing that, but I did it and I was like ‘man what does this mean?”
Jeff Hardy became a hot topic following his inclusion in the 24/7 Title segment as he was trending on Twitter, and the former WWE Champion acknowledged the support he received from the fans.
“The creatures, my people, they had my back, you know. I guess something was trending the next day, ‘I can’t believe you’re treating his like that’ or something, and I don’t pay attention to any of that either.”
