WWE released Jeff Hardy last year following an incident at a live event, but it seems that the company was interested in bringing him back after letting him go. It was reported that WWE offered to induct Jeff Hardy into the Hall of Fame which Hardy himself later confirmed.

During a recent appearance on Talk Is Jericho the former WWE Champion talked about his reaction to the offer, and he also explained why he declined to be inducted.

“Well, first of all, I don’t want to go in there without my brother and it’s not my time. This is too early. This is crazy. So yeah, it was very emotional. I was like, ‘What are they trying to do because naturally, I’m going to be reunited with my brother in AEW when I’m free of WWE.’

“I told my wife what had happened. I said, ‘I can’t believe what they just offered me.’ So it was very emotional, but I happily declined it.”

Ultimately Jeff Hardy ended up joining AEW where he’s currently working alongside his brother Matt. The Hardys have been feuding with The Young Bucks and they recently picked up a win over their rivals at the AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view last weekend. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
