CM Punk has feuded with some of the biggest names in the business throughout his career, and many people still talk about his rivalry with Jeff Hardy. It’s been years since the two have faced off inside the ring, but a few months ago Jeff Hardy go the wrestling world talking when he said that he would like to return to WWE and retire CM Punk.
The Second City Saint was later asked about the comments and he said, “He would like to retire me? Alright, I would like to be able to fly. I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon.”
Recently Jeff Hardy spoke to Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone about the possibility of facing CM Punk again someday, and he noted that he was joking when he brought up the idea of retiring Punk.
“Yeah, I hear that so much still to this day, ‘In ’09, man, when CM Punk made you retire? Man, oh, my God, I cried.’ I hear that so much still to this day. So yeah, I just said that as a joke one day, and I saw that [Punk’s response]. My wife showed it to me first. I saw it through Matt, and yeah, I mean, I’d like to fly, but that’s not gonna happen.”
