This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw featured a big title match as The War Raiders defended the WWE World Tag Team Championship against Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh.
During the match JD McDonagh went for a springboard moonsault to the outside and he ended up slamming his head into the announce table when he landed. McDonagh later took to social media to confirm that he punctured a lung and broke multiple ribs while performing the move. Despite the fact that he was injured during the match JD continued to wrestle until the match was over.
Recently referee Shawn Bennett praised JD McDonagh for carrying on with the match when he posted a photo of McDonagh performing a moonsault along with the following caption:
“Last night, I looked directly into the eyes of a man that wouldn’t stop for nothing. The pain, fire, & fight were all raging inside him.
Then he got up and did this.
Unreal.
Love to @jd_mcdonagh. I look forward to when he returns w/ the pure passion he brings to work everyday.”
There’s currently no word on when McDonagh could be back as he has confirmed that he will be sidelined for a couple of months following the injury. We wish him a speedy recovery.
First off, thanks to everyone for the messages and the concern. I'm good.
I've got a couple of broken ribs and a punctured lung, so I'm going to be out for a couple months. All things considered, it could have been a lot worse, so I'm grateful for that.
See ya in a bit.
