JBL On Why WWE Raw Isn’t Going To Return To The Two Hour Format

For years now fans have been complaining about the fact that Raw is three hours long, as some weeks it’s a bit of a chore to sit through depending on the content that’s shown throughout the three hour runtime. This week after Raw a new show called Bring It To The Table premiered on the WWE Network, and JBL addressed the complaints.

When asked about Raw possibly going to two hours host Peter Rosenberg said that he would enjoy Raw more if it was only two hours, as he finds himself fast forwarding through too many segments. JBL broke down the finances and noted that dropping the third hour of Raw would cause WWE to lose a significant amount of revenue.

“WWE makes $173 million dollars off television revenue, by far the most out of anything else on the balance sheet. They make about $137 million off the Network, they make about $106 million off live events, the rest of it is under $50 million each. So when you have $173 million, that’s the biggest driver of revenue for WWE, and you want to take out one hour. That third hour of Raw brings a huge amount of revenue and also leeway on your balance sheet for WWE to do some incredible things, and I don’t understand why people want to take take Raw from three hours to two hours.”
