JBL On Why He Thinks WWE Should Carry On With Crown Jewel In Saudi Arabia

WWE Crown Jewel has become a very controversial event following the disappearance of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, but the show is set to carry on as planned.

Many people have urged WWE to call off the show, but former WWE Champion JBL recently appeared on Fox News and shared his stance on why he thinks the show should go on.

“My personal opinion is that they should go. I think the only way you promote change, what we did with Cuba, when you isolate a country, all you do is impoverish that country. You want to promote change – WWE went to Abu Dhabi, did the first women’s match that had ever happened in the Middle East. The crowd was chanting in English ‘this is change.'”

JBL also commented on the United States Senators who have come forward and spoken out against the event.

“And for these senators to come out and bash WWE on this – I’ve spent 7 Christmases in Iraq and Afghanistan with the WWE. I was with WWE, the first group to go down and visit the Twin Towers while they were still burning. We were the first group on 9/13 to have a mass gathering after 9/11, people didn’t know what was going to happen. For these guys to hide behind their patriotism and their flag waving, to me is to try and improve their abysmal approval ratings.”
