A few years ago James Storm wrestled a few matches in NXT, and fans had high hopes that the former TNA World Champion would be sticking around to climb the ladder in WWE.
However, Storm surprised many when he decided to return to Impact Wrestling instead, but his run with Impact officially came to an end a few years ago.
During a recent interview with Lucha Libre Online, James Storm revealed that he was supposed to join WWE after WrestleMania, but the contract got retracted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“I signed the contract and all that stuff and I was just waiting to take the physical. They called me and told me it was going to the be put off because of all the stuff going on.”
Storm noted that he knew the contract would be retracted once WWE started releasing people, but he hopes there’s another opportunity in the future.
“Once I seen that they were making all these cuts with all these different guys and stuff like that I just knew it was a matter of time before they retract the contract. It sucks because I can sit here and say ‘me me me’ but in the whole scheme of things it was a lot of people who lost their jobs. All I can do is keep on keeping on and doing my thing and hopefully there’s another opportunity to come in the future.”
