James Storm On Why He Decided To Leave Impact Wrestling

James Storm has been in the professional wrestling business for a long time, but most fans associate The Cowboy with Impact Wrestling.

The former TNA World Champion has spent a number of years working in Impact throughout his career, but he noted during an interview with Lucha Libre Online that he eventually reached a point where he knew it was time to go.

“I had been there for 15 years and, I don’t know, I just kind of wanted to do something different,” Storm said of his decision to leave. “I still love Impact; I still wish nothing but the best for Impact Wrestling, but it was my time to step away from Impact.”

Storm also added that he wanted to leave Impact a year earlier than he did.

“I actually wanted to leave before my last year was up because I felt like they really weren’t doing anything with me. I was just kind of being put on the shelf. I think I still had so much to give, even if it was just helping out the younger talent into getting better.”

James Storm also recently revealed that he was set to join WWE after WrestleMania this year, but WWE retracted his contract due to the coronavirus pandemic. So, it will be interesting to see if he ends up there are some point.
