James Storm Is A Free Agent According To James Storm

In October of 2015 Cowboy James Storm made his NXT debut, and he wrestled a few matches for the brand. Many fans were thrilled to see Storm wrestle for NXT, but unfortunately it didn’t last, and James Storm returned to TNA in January of 2016.

James Storm reportedly returned to TNA because when it came time to talk money with WWE James and the company couldn’t come to terms, and TNA offered him a better deal. Storm reunited with his Beer Money partner Bobby Roode, and they won the TNA Tag Team Titles, but later had to drop the belts because Roode left TNA for NXT.

A few weeks ago during a TNA pay-per-view taping James Storm told the crowd that he had fulfilled his duties with Impact Wrestling, and Storm hasn’t been since in TNA since that night.

Now James Storm has notified the world that as of Sept. 15th he is a free agent, and he’s taking bookings.

It’s worth noting that TNA was promoting a storyline where Billy Corgan suspended The Cowboy, so it’s possible that this is a work.

The same night Storm announced that he had fulfilled his duties with TNA, he also retweeted a message from someone saying he would be available for bookings in the UK in September and October.

No word right now on what’s next for The Cowboy James Storm, but there are certainly more than a few fans out there who would love to see him wrestle in NXT again. Now that Roode is part of NXT another James Storm WWE run would give fans a chance to see Beer Money in the promotion or another Bobby Roode vs James Storm match.

Shortly after his signed a new deal with TNA Cowboy James Storm spoke to Real Sport 101 and noted that as far as he knows the door was left open for him to return.

“No, it was never an all-out decision to come back to TNA, Me and Hunter (Triple H) had a talk and as far as I’m aware left the door open, Hunter has done some great things for NXT, no matter what people may think of his on screen character, behind the scenes he’s one of the most passionate guys in the business.”

During his career with TNA James Storm won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, the TNA Tag Team Championship as well as the TNA King of the Mountain Championship.

Storm signed on with TNA in 2002. He is no stranger to high impact wrestling, and he made a big name for himself in the tag team division.

Over the years he’s won tag team championship gold with partners such as Christopher Daniels, Chris Harris, Gunner, Abyss and of course his longtime partner, and sometimes rival Bobby Roode.

Storm later moved into singles competition and he won his first and only TNA World Heavyweight Championship when he defeated Kurt Angle in a matter of seconds to win the title. He was still teaming with Bobby Roode at the time as part of Beer Money, but Storm’s TNA World Heavyweight Championship win made Roode jealous, and he turned heel on his friend when he smashed him in the face with his own beer bottle.

The heel turn marked the beginning of a long rivalry between Storm and Roode which culminated in a bloody street fight at Bound For Glory in 2012 which featured MMA star King Mo as the referee. Storm successfully defeated Bobby Roode after almost a year of back and forth between the TNA stars.

Beer Money is arguably one of the greatest tag teams to never compete in the WWE. If the Cowboy really does leave TNA fans will no doubt be calling for a Beer Money reunion in NXT.
