Jack Swagger Update, Recently Called Up WWE Superstars Still Booked For NXT Shows

Jack Swagger finally got his WWE release recently after not being featured on WWE television for quite some time. There was some controversy regarding Swagger working indie dates following his release but it would appear he’s over that now. Southside Wrestling has announced the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be making his debut working for the promotion in July. Of course, this will give Jack Swagger plenty of time to get past his assumed 90-day non-compete clause so he’ll be free to work where ever he sees fit. We hope Swagger is another name who can find his footing in the indie scene and then make a triumphant return to WWE with a much bigger name. He’s always been one of our favorite underutilized members of the WWE roster.

Even though NXT might have lost some of their biggest names in the past week or so due to a main roster call-up, it looks like they’re not totally saying goodbye just yet. NXT is promoting Shinsuke Nakamura, Tye Dillinger, and The Revival for several NXT house shows later on in April.

It’s no big surprise NXT would want to keep these house shows stacked to bring people into the event. But, there are still plenty of great names left in NXT to draw a crowd.

Of course, names like Bobby Roode, Asuka, Kassius Ohno, Authors Of Pain, and Team DIY are also promoted to be at the events. So there will be plenty of current NXT talent represented at the shows. But it might be more of a sign there is a sense of trepidation that the names left in NXT after this latest round of post-WrestleMania call-ups have left the roster somewhat depleted.

Just give NXT a little time and they’ll soon have another crop of talent that are able to fill just about any building they book for a show. But in the meantime, if you click on certain upcoming NXT house shows you’ll find nearly half of the names on the list of scheduled names have already made their debuts on Raw or SmackDown.
