Jack Swagger was with WWE for over 10 years, and during his run with the company he accomplished a lot. Swagger managed to win the ECW World Title, the US Title, and of course the Money in the Bank briefcase which later allowed him to win the WWE World Heavyweight Title.
The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion recently joined us on Still Real Radio, and he talked a little bit about his big World Title win. Swagger said that he knew something was up when he got a call after Raw, but technically he didn’t find out he was going to become champion until the day he actually won the belt.
“We did Mania Sunday, then we had Raw Monday in Phoenix, and I was originally just on Raw at the time. And they called me that night, Monday night after Raw. My wife and I were already going to Vegas anyways because we were out there to have a little vacation together, so it worked out they said ‘get on a plane, SmackDown’s in Vegas. We need you tomorrow.’ They didn’t really tell me anything, but you can kinda assume when something comes up like that and you have the Money in the Bank briefcase. So I kinda figured it out. Then the next day we had a meeting with Vince and some PR people, so they told me then.”
As far as his WWE World Heavyweight Title reign goes, the former WWE star said that it was truly an honor to hold the belt.
“What an honor. It really is. To look back and say that I was World Heavyweight Champion, and have my name in a list of such Hall of Famers, and people that really carried this business. I really take a lot of pride in that.”
In the full episode we also talk to Jack Swagger about what’s next for his wrestling career, possibly going to Impact Wrestling, and more. You can subscribe to Still Real Radio on iTunes and you can check out the latest episode below.
