Ivory is officially landing in the WWE Hall Of Fame which is a place she certainly deserves to be. Through her trailblazing efforts, she carved a path for future women to flourish in sports entertainment and future generations will have her to thank as well.
Along with being a member of the OG class of GLOW the actual wrestling organization which inspired the Netflix series, Ivory has done a lot in her career as well. She was a coach on Tough Enough, inspired millions of girls all over the world, and picked up the WWE Women’s Title 3-times in the process which isn’t anything to look down at.
She also competed in a day and age where the women in WWE didn’t receive nearly the credit they deserved. It would have been practically unheard of for WWE to promote a segment featuring women before unless there was some kind of gimmick attached but now it seems every week we have a new ferocious female battle to look forward to.
Ivory spoke to ESPN about her upcoming induction into the WWE Hall Of Fame where she likened it to her wedding day which is an interesting comparison but as she explained it makes perfect sense.
“I liken it to almost getting married, it’s my wedding day, which I’ve never had one, so, this is probably as close to a wedding production as I’ll ever get,” Ivory said. “Hair and makeup, I will be speaking my vows — with regards to my wrestling career — to all these people I adore and love and we want it to all happen without a hitch.”
“I always felt embraced by the family. I didn’t chat with Vince McMahon all the time, but he always gave me great opportunities. I always felt like I had his seal of approval like, ‘Yeah, give it to Ivory, she will do it right.”
