Samoa Joe was looking to make a huge impact in this year’s Royal Rumble match, but unfortunately Joe recently injured his foot during a match on Monday Night Raw, and now he’s out of action.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the injury is looking to be more than a few week thing, which is why Joe has been pulled from the Royal Rumble match and upcoming live events through mid-March.
Samoa Joe isn’t the only WWE Superstar on the roster who is currently dealing with an injury as SmackDown Live star Kevin Owens was recently pulled from WWE live events as well.
Owens did work the 1/13 WWE live event in Hidalgo, Texas, but he was pulled from next two events.
KO was backstage for the events, but he wasn’t used and it’s being reported that he’s dealing with a nagging injury that comes and goes, but it’s not serious.
Even though Samoa Joe won’t be working the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Kevin Owens is set to be featured in a big match on the card.
Owens and Sami Zayn are set to face off against AJ Styles in a 2 on 1 handicap match, where they will become co-WWE Champion if they manage to defeat The Phenomenal One.
