The Stan That HBK Superkicked Was Current WWE Superstar Tye Dillinger

DX were one of the biggest wrestling stables of all time, and they changed the game for WWE during The Attitude Era. DX always pushed the envelope on TV, but eventually the group all went their separate ways after Triple H broke away and turned heel.

DX did reunite during Triple H’s heel run, but there was a period of time where fans didn’t see any DX related content on WWE programming.

When Shawn Michaels came out of retirement, fans hoped for a DX reunion with HBK and Triple H, but it wasn’t meant to be as Triple H and Michaels ended up facing off against each other in a bitter feud that lasted for several years.

But eventually they realized they needed each other, and they reunited in 2006 and reformed DX as a tag team.

At Cyber Sunday in 2006, Triple H and Shawn Michaels faced off against Rated RKO in a tag team match that featured Eric Bischoff as the referee.

Backstage at the event Triple H told Shawn Michaels that Eric Bischoff said they don’t know the meaning of the word “controversial.”

Shawn Michaels then decided to inject a little controversy into the segment when he randomly asked someone backstage what their name was, and the man replied by saying, “Stan.”

Poor Stan then got hit with Sweet Chin Music, and Stan has been somewhat of an infamous figure ever since.

It turns out that Stan isn’t Stan at all, he’s actually current WWE Superstar Tye Dillinger.

Tye Dillinger was signed to a WWE developmental contract in 2006 and was later released in 2009 before he returned to WWE in 2013.
