Dean Ambrose is currently out of action rehabbing a triceps injury, and fans haven’t seen him on WWE programming since December of last year.
Over the last few years Dean Ambrose has established himself as a workhorse in WWE, and he’s got the numbers to prove it.
Chris Harrington of Wrestlenomics recently shared an interesting chart on Twitter, and it shows that Dean Ambrose has wrestled more matches than anyone else on the roster since 2015, despite the fact that he hasn’t wrestled at all so far in 2018.
According to the chart, Ambrose has wrestled 586 matches since January 1, 2015.
However, Roman Reigns is quickly closing in on him, and will likely overtake him soon as Reigns has wrestled 573 matches since January 1, 2015.
Other names who round out the top spots include Cesaro with 556, Kevin Owens with 543, Sheamus with 534, Charlotte Flair with 512, Dolph Ziggler with 508, and Seth Rollins with 507.
It's kind of incredible that Ambrose is still leading in matches wrestled Jan 1 2015-May 25 2018 despite being out since December. Reigns will probably overtake him around this weekend. Big E & Cesaro are higher but this list is just "wrestled" matches – not including the "with". pic.twitter.com/npaZcnOe33

It’s also interesting to note that when “appearances” are included, Dean Ambrose still tops the list.
FWIW – here's that list again but with "appearances" included (this would be special referee, accompanying another wrestler, etc.)
Dean is still tops, but you can see Big E is much higher (since New Day alternates team members and Cesaro also has been a workhorse). pic.twitter.com/7ijYVgZKzc

Ambrose is currently on the road to recovery, so hopefully he’ll be able to return and start bumping those numbers up sooner than later.
