Impact Wrestling has been going through a ton of changes recently.
Scott D’Amore was brought back into the company for a backstage role but it was unknown what his exact job title or responsibilities would be. In the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it is reported D’Amore’s new title is “Vice President of International Development.”
Therefore, Scott D’Amore will be in charge of the upcoming India tour, the United Kingdom deals, and the dealings with Konnan’s Crash Luchas promotion in Mexico. On a related note, Konnan has been telling people Anthem will help facilitate a television deal for Crash which will see them broadcasted outside of Mexico.
In spite of all the promotion and Alberto El Patron’s debut with the company, Impact Wrestling still received 1,000 less viewers for the inaugural episode with this new regime.
One thing that isn’t expected to change is Gail Kim’s contract status. Dave Meltzer reports she was merely out of action due to a back injury and there were plans to bring her back during the last set of television tapings, however she was injured. She is still tentatively scheduled to return to Impact Wrestling once her back is healed up, possibly as early as the next set of television tapings in early April.
