Impact Wrestling Releases Tessa Blanchard, Strips Her Of The World Title

Tessa Blanchard is certainly no stranger to controversy, and she got a lot of people talking back in January when she became the first woman to ever win the Impact World Championship at the Hard to Kill PPV.

But Tessa Blanchard’s Impact World Championship reign has come to an end, as the company recently confirmed that her contract has been terminated when they released the following statement:

“Impact Wrestling confirmed that it has terminated its relationship with Tessa Blanchard and stripped her of the Impact Wrestling World Championship.”

Tessa Blanchard has not competed for Impact since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. She was originally supposed to return and defend her title against Trey Miguel, Eddie Edwards, Ace Austin and Michael Elgin at Slammiversary next month.

PWInsider reports that relations between Blanchard and Impact have become icy after she was expected to send in promos from Mexico which could be edited into an episode of Impact.

Attempts had been made to get Tessa Blanchard to return and drop the title, but the two sides weren’t able to agree on terms.

Blanchard’s contract was originally set to expire before the pay-per-view, and the company decided to cut bait.
