WWE recently announced that SmackDown will be moving to Tuesdays on July 19th and it will also be going live. The move obviously isn’t good for TNA because Impact airs on Tuesdays meaning that the first hour of Impact would have to go head to head with the second hour of SmackDown.
When WWE announced that SmackDown was moving to Tuesday fans began to wonder about the fate of Impact. Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that there has been a lot of talk in TNA about moving Impact back to Thursdays.
This week’s episode of TNA Impact had a lot of hype behind it thanks to Matt and Jeff Hardy’s magnum opus, The Final Deletion. It looks like all of the hype drew people in because viewership was up for this week’s episode.
According to ShowBuzzDaily this week’s episode of TNA Impact drew 410,000 viewers which is up from the 332,000 viewers who tuned into last week’s show. This week’s episode also had the largest audience for first run viewership since Impact made the move to POP TV.
The Final Deletion was also a hot topic on social media and it helped Impact Wrestling crack the top five for Nielsen’s Twitter TV ratings.
