Braun Strowman really made us all wonder what was going on in WWE when he started to scan the crowd for a tag team partner instead of announcing that his partner would be a guy from the back. After all, we had heard anything from The Big Show to Rey Mysterio as a possible tag team partner for Braun Strowman.
But at this point, Strowman didn’t need a partner and he looked in the crowd for a partner instead because he was just looking to make sure The Bar got his hands. This was a strange decision but then again, anything can happen in WWE.
Strowman ran into the crowd and ventured out onto the flood of the Superdome seemingly making his choice at random. He finally landed on a long-haired child wearing a long-sleeved WrestleMania shirt named Nicholas as his partner.
Once Braun Strowman and his new partner got in the ring he told Nicholas to stand on the apron and let him do the work. Although Strowman did actually tag in his pint-sized partner for a moment, the child quickly tagged Braun Strowman back in the match so he could finish things out.
It didn’t take long for Braun Strowman to get rid of Sheamus and dispatch Cesaro with a powerslam to pick up the Raw Tag Team Championships with Nicholas as his partner.
But it turns out Braun Strowman’s choice wasn’t a random one at all which shouldn’t be a big surprise. Brad Shepard of BodySlam.net reports that Nicholas is actually the son of WWE referee John Cone.
It’s nice that Cone was able to get his son to be part of the show, I just wonder if Nicholas can get some time off from school so he can travel on the road with his dad as he defends his Raw Tag Team Championship alongside The Monster Among Men.
