Hulk Hogan is no stranger to being a part of a stable that runs the show. In all honesty, a lot of the Bullet Club’s demeanor could be attributed to the trailblazing attitude of the nWo. So Hogan and the BC could be a perfect fit in theory.
This is the kind of thing that Hulk Hogan has spoken about in the past and most thought he gave a light-hearted response to the question. Therefore a lot of people didn’t think much could come from it. But if they subscribed to that school of thought they might be very wrong.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Hulk Hogan was in negotiations to join the Bullet Club “a few months back.” This would have likely seen The Hulkster join the infamous pro wrestling stable in a superficial role, but he wanted a lot of money in return.
The Bullet Club has stated in the past that they would love to get someone like CM Punk to join their stable but at this time Punk has expressed no interest in returning to pro wrestling.
Apparently, negotiations with Hulk Hogan got far enough where a dollar figure was discussed but he wanted too much money to take the role. It was also thought that he would leave New Japan and Bullet Club as soon as Vince McMahon called him for a WWE return. After all, Hogan has used the same tactic in the past to get WWE to give him a call. WWE might not want to deal with Hogan at this point but they also might not want anyone else making money with him either.
The situation between Hulk Hogan and WWE hasn’t changed though because the thought remains that WWE will bring him back when they think he’s ready and there won’t be any public or advertiser backlash. Of course, as Meltzer pointed out there’s no way WWE can win in a “public court” while trying to defend the things Hulk Hogan said on the leaked audio from that stolen and illegally filmed sex tape.
So it looks like for the time being, WWE knows where to find Hulk Hogan if they want him because he’s enjoying his time as the world’s most famous beach bum at Hogan’s Beach Shop in Clearwater, Florida.
