It’s been a big week for the SmackDown Live brand, as Becky Lynch was pulled from her scheduled match with Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series due to injury, and she picked Charlotte Flair to be her replacement.
For months it’s been rumored that WWE officials were considering Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey for the main event at WrestleMania 35, but it looks like that plan could be off the table.
Dave Meltzer discussed WWE’s options for WrestleMania 35 on Wrestling Observer Radio, and he noted that right now it appears that the company is going to save Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey for Mania.
“The Mania match, today it was talked about. It’s Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch, which is probably going to be in the main event, well one of the two big matches at Mania.”
Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey was without a doubt one of, if not the most anticipated match on the Survivor Series card.
But if Lynch ends up in the WrestleMania main event next year, then perhaps her unfortunately timed injury will be looked at as a blessing in disguise.
