Tonight the annual WWE Draft will kick off on Friday Night SmackDown, and some major names are eligible to be drafted tonight.
For years now fans have seen The New Day work together as a unit, but recently Big E has been pursuing a singles run. It looks like a huge change could be coming for The New Day, as it’s rumored that WWE could be splitting the group up.
WrestleVotes reported a few weeks ago that there was an idea that was discussed to move Kofi Kingston to Raw, and keep Big E on SmackDown. The idea would see both wrestlers keep The New Day’s entrance music, and remain members of The New Day on separate brands.
Another layer to the idea was to have Xavier Woods bounce between both brands and act as a manager.
At the time WrestleVotes noted that the idea was shot down, but it looks like some fuel is being thrown on the fire as WrestleVotes responded to their own tweet with a gif of Vince McMahon looking surprised.
Only time will tell if WWE does indeed split the group up, but it sounds like an interesting idea to say the least. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
