Huge Match Reportedly Being Discussed For John Cena’s WWE Return

It’s been a little while since John Cena has appeared on WWE programming, but Cena will be returning to SmackDown tonight and he will continue to appear on the blue brand through October 27. It’s been confirmed that Cena will be teaming with Seth Rollins to face Giovanni Vinci & Ludwig Kaiser at Superstar Spectacle later this month, and it looks like another big match is being considered for the former WWE Champion.

According to the WRKD Wrestling account the possibility of John Cena facing off against Cody Rhodes has been discussed for his return to the company.

It’s certainly no big secret that Cody Rhodes is hoping to face off against John Cena at some point as he noted during a recent Reddit AMA that he directly asked Cena about a possible match.

“I asked John if he does one more…to consider that match. If not though, I’m blessed to have been under his learning tree and shared a ring with him in the past”

At this point it’s not clear if the Cena vs. Rhodes match is going to happen, but with John Cena returning soon it seems to be on the table. Stay tuned for updates.
