Sunday night John Cena failed to win the Elimination Chamber match, and he appeared on Raw the next day to talk about his status for WrestleMania. Cena challenged The Undertaker to a match at the Show of Shows, but then followed up by saying the match won’t be happening.
Tuesday night John Cena took advantage of his free agent status, and he kicked off SmackDown Live. Cena declared that he wanted a spot in the WWE Title match at Fastlane, and Daniel Bryan told him he could earn a title shot if he managed to defeat AJ Styles in the main event.
AJ Styles and John Cena know each other well as they’ve clashed several times in the past, and they never disappoint.
Cena and Styles went back and forth for a while, and at one point Cena even put Styles through the announce table, but Styles got back in the ring before the 10 count. AJ got Cena in the Calf Crusher, but he rolled through somehow and hit the Attitude Adjustment for the win.
John Cena has now been added to the WWE Title match at Fastlane.
