This week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown continued the build for WrestleMania 39, and Imperium faced off against Braun Strowman, Ricochet and Madcap Moss in a six man tag team match. During the match Drew McIntyre appeared on the ramp as he watched the match from a distance.
Drew McIntyre stared down Gunther, but after the match he was ambushed by The Viking Raiders. Luckily Sheamus came out to back up Drew McIntyre in his battle against The Viking Raiders.
It seems that Drew McIntyre still has unfinished business with Gunther as he challenged the Intercontinental Champion to a match at WrestleMania on the SmackDown Lowdown when he said, “It’s five weeks to WrestleMania. I want Gunther and I want the Intercontinental Championship.”
As of this writing Gunther has yet to accept the challenge, so we’ll have to see if the match is made official. WrestleMania 39 will air live from SoFi Stadium on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2. You can check out the current card for the event below.
