Mercedes Mone was one of the top stars in WWE for some time, but she decided to part ways with the company years ago, and since then she’s become one of the biggest names in AEW and on the independent scene. Mone has become known as a belt collector, but it seems that her appearances do not come cheap.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that one promoter who inquired about booking Mercedes Mone noted that it was $25,000 per appearance. It was noted that there may be different deals that are cut with other promotions, and it’s also possible that she gives that quote to people she isn’t interested in working with.
It was noted to the Observer that $25,000 is a very difficult price, and the promoter in question had to turn it down. Meltzer added that he’s never heard of someone being paid $25,000 in CMLL, or close to that and the promotion has used major stars such as Jericho, Moxley, MJF and Bryan Danielson. Generally the highest paid indie stars are said to be charging $5,000.
Recently it was confirmed that Mercedes Mone will be stepping into the ring at AEW Full Gear next month as she’s set to challenge Kris Statlander for the AEW Women’s Championship at the event.
Stay tuned for updates.
