We’re on the cusp of WrestleMania season, and the season is going to kick off with a historic Royal Rumble pay-per-view in just a few weeks. As we all know, with WrestleMania season comes Hall of Fame announcements, and it looks like WWE has a big name in mind for this year’s headliner.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that former WWE Universal Champion Bill Goldberg is set to be the headliner for the 2018 Hall of Fame class, and the announcement is expected to be made shortly.
It’s also expected that The Dudleys will be inducted into the 2018 Hall of Fame class as well, and it’s worth noting that they were recently confirmed for the upcoming Raw 25th anniversary show.
Goldberg became a huge star thanks to his infamous streak in WCW, and after WCW closed its doors he waited for some time before signing with WWE.
His first WWE run ended on bad terms, and it seemed that he would never return, but both sides came to agreement and Bill ended up facing Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series in 2016. The match kicked off a feud that culminated at WrestleMania 33, and Goldberg said goodbye to the fans the next night.
Whether or not Goldberg will be wrestling another match inside a WWE ring remains to be seen, but it looks like the former WCW World Champion is on his way to becoming a Hall of Famer.
