Has The Main Event For Hell In A Cell Been Revealed?

SummerSlam is now in the rear view mirror, so whilst the Raw brand turns their attention to the upcoming No Mercy pay-per-view, SmackDown Live will now begin to build momentum ahead of Hell in a Cell on October 8th.

Jinder Mahal shockingly retained his WWE Championship back at The Biggest Party of The Summer in a match against Shinsuke Nakamura. It seems that WWE could have plans to give Nakamura another shot at the title, but this time the match will be contested inside the Hell in a Cell structure.

On a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that the feud between the two SmackDown stars will continue over the next few weeks and culminate at Hell in a Cell inside the historic structure.

That being said, there are also reports suggesting that SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens could collide inside the structure as well, which wouldn’t be the first time that WWE has presented more than one match inside the cell on the same night.

Now that Baron Corbin has cashed in his Money in the Bank contract unsuccessfully, it seems that WWE sees Nakamura as Jinder Mahal’s only current challenger and given how close he was to winning the WWE Championship last weekend, this could finally be Nakamura’s chance to hold the biggest title in WWE.

This will be the first time both men have stepped inside the structure and given that the match is for the biggest title on SmackDown Live, this will likely be the main event of the night.

The Raw brand is pulling out all the stops for No Mercy, so it seems that SmackDown is ensuring that the ratings war continues heading into one of the biggest brand focused pay-per-view of the year that is Survivor Series in just two months time.
