More On The Hardys Going To WWE, Nixed Plans For The Young Bucks Feud

We previously reported WWE has a contract on the table for the Broken Hardys to come back home. As soon as the news dropped, we were on it because The Hardys fascinate us to say the least. They are quite frankly one of the most talked about facets of the entire professional industry right now and for good reason.

It was noted in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the situation with Impact Wrestling and the Broken Universe is now about stopping WWE from attaining the gimmick as well as establishing co-ownership of the gimmick.

WWE has done co-ownership deals in the past as they inked a deal in 1984 with Marvel to use the “Hulk” in Hulk Hogan’s name, but Vince McMahon and company have never done any type of co-ownership agreement with another professional wrestling promotion.

Reby Hardy accused Impact of using her father, Senior Benjamin without having him sign a deal as well as use her son Maxel without any paperwork. This is a stiff claim as it is very commonplace for any televised event to have anyone who could possibly appear on the broadcast to sign waivers. If Impact Wrestling didn’t complete their due diligence in that regard, it would be a bad time for them if the courts get involved.

It was also noted that there were plans for Impact Wrestling to host much of the Hardys/Young Bucks feud. Obviously this rivalry was transplanted to ROH after the Hardys’ exit from the Anthem Sports property. But, with ROH and WWE reportedly being in talks who knows if fans could see Matt and Jeff and Nick and Matt going at it again on a much larger stage.

Regardless of what will come out of the situation it appears it is a matter of “when” not “if” Matt and Jeff Hardy will be making their return to WWE. It’s also been speculated there is even a possibility it could happen as early as WrestleMania with the Smackdown Tag Team Title match being the prime opportunity.
