Colt Cabana’s history with CM Punk has been well documented, and Cabana has been a hot topic over the last few months after CM Punk took several shots at his former friend during the post-show media scrum following AEW All Out.
Recently Colt Cabana made his return to AEW programming when he answered Chris Jericho’s open challenge, but it doesn’t seem that Punk is expected to return to the company as it’s been reported that AEW is in talks to buy out his contract.
WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair recently asked Colt Cabana about his situation with CM Punk, and he explained how it all went down on an episode of his To Be The Man podcast.
“Colt Cabana walked up to me the other day. Colt Cabana came over and wanted my autograph and I didn’t know who he was. I’ve never met him, right, and the guy goes, This is Colt Cabana.’ Then I stood up and shook his hand. I said, ‘What’s going on with you and Punk?’ He said, ‘It’s a long story.’ So, Punk’s got more long stories with people than I do. [Cabana] a nice kid … really good worker.”
