Over the years fans have seen some major title matches on WWE pay-per-views, and back in 1992 fans saw Bret Hart defend the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam from Wembley Stadium in London, England.
WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart recently spoke with Tom Power about the iconic title match, and he revealed that Vince McMahon specifically asked him not to give away the ending.
“Even with Vince McMahon, when I think of wrestling The British Bulldog at Wembley Stadium, I remember telling Vince, ‘Do you want me to tell you the ending?’ And he goes, ‘Don’t tell me the ending, I wanna watch it.’”
Bret Hart went on to say that he eventually got to a point where Vince McMahon allowed him to be in charge of how his matches were laid out.
“I became a guy that was eventually in charge of all my matches. Vince McMahon would tell me what they wanted me to do, and I’m gonna tell you how the story’s gonna go until we get to the ending. I would map out the match with everybody, and it would be quite intricate, quite a detailed match.”
