There are many WWE stars who are at the top of their game right now and recently Gunther has become one of the most talked about wrestlers in the company. Gunther received a lot of praise for his record setting performance at the Royal Rumble and now it seems that he’s making history with his Intercontinental Championship reign.
In June of 2022 Gunther defeated Ricochet to become the Intercontinental Champion and he has held the title for 245 days so far. WWE pointed out recently that this makes him the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion of the 21st century. WWE also broke down the top 5 longest IC Title reigns of the 21st which can be seen below.
Shinsuke Nakamura – 201 days
Randy Orton – 209 days
Cody Rhodes – 233 days
Shelton Benjamin – 244 days
Gunther – 245 days

Gunther still has a ways to go to break the all time record for a single IC Title reign which is still held by the Honky Tonk Man at 454 days. Only time will tell if he is able to surpass that number.
