We here at Still Real to Us realize that you can read unless you have a really cool computer program reading this to you.
It seems that the professional wrestling world has no shortage of reading material. From awesome websites like this one to more wrestler autobiographies than you can shake a stick at, there is an absolute plethora of reading options out there for your enjoyment.
If you’ve ever wondered what it was like to be Pete Gas, then you’re in luck. The former member of the Mean Street Posse and Shane-O-Mac’s close personal friend is releasing an autobiography slated to be out on March 21st called “Looking at the Lights: My Path From Fan to a Wrestling Heel.”
The book will tell the story of an untrained former college football player ending up in the WWE thanks to being childhood friends with Vince McMahon’s son. The book claims to tell one of the most fascinating success stories of the era, so that’s fun. It should be a good read if you’ve ever wondered that it was like to be in a posse, but you’re not really a “people person.”
We’ve covered the fact that AJ Brooks is releasing her own autobiography before, and it’s still happening. On April 4th she will drop “Crazy is my Superpower: How I Triumphed by Breaking Bones, Breaking Hearts, and Breaking the Rules.” This book has already received a massive amount of build-up as Brooks recently disclosed on her blog that she is bipolar, and the line in the title about ‘breaking hearts’ certainly has a fair amount of intrigue attached to it. Therefore, it should be a good read.
Good ‘Ole JR is also taking a stab at writing an autobiography as well. Jim Ross’ book: “Slobberknocker: My Life in Wrestling” isn’t due to be released until October 3rd, but it is certainly long awaited. This story is sure to be one full of interesting information and stories from a man who was the voice of some of the most iconic moments in WWF/E history. Although it isn’t due to be released until late this year as soon as it is on shelves, business is sure to pick up.
Oh yeah, Mick Foley is writing another book. Even though he doesn’t quite resemble Santa Claus anymore due to his impressive weight loss, he is still very much in the Christmas spirit all year long. “St Mick” is due to be out in October, just in time for the Christmas season when you’d want to buy a book about Santa Claus.
Foley’s newest book will take a look at the Santa culture and tell several stories from his own life surrounding the subject. The book will also include many pictures, and Mickles did wear Santa themed apparel for an entire year, so there’s that to look forward to. The book is sure to spread holiday cheer and further assure fans that Foley is absolutely obsessed with Christmas.
