Goldberg Was Reluctant To End Former WWE Star’s Undefeated Streak

When it comes to streaks in the world of professional wrestling there’s no denying that Goldberg’s undefeated streak is infamous. Goldberg’s streak will go down in history, but it seems that the Hall of Famer was reluctant to end a former WWE star’s streak.

During his run with WWE at one point Rodney Mack was a member of Teddy Long’s Thuggin’ And Buggin’ Enterprises, and he racked up an undefeated streak with his White Boy Challenge. However, that undefeated streak came to an end during the June 23, 2003 episode of Monday Night Raw when he was defeated by Goldberg.

Rodney Mack recently talked about working with Goldberg during an appearance on the Wrestling Inc. Daily, and he noted that Goldberg was reluctant to end the streak.

“It was great to work with Goldberg. Bill’s a great guy, I remember I was one of the first guys he met coming through the locker room in WWE. We just hit it off right off the bat, but it’s really easy to do that since Bill’s a great guy. You know, he didn’t really want to do it [end the streak] at the time. But I’m like, ‘I’m not in position to make a decision on that.’

“Bill stood up for me a lot. I have nothing but great things to say about him. I wish we could have worked a proper angle or program together, because I really think he and I could have drawn some money together.”

Goldberg last competed at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view back in January where he unsuccessfully challenged Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship. It’s not clear at this point in time when he might return for another match.
