WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg has been making it clear for some time now that he was looking to compete in a retirement match, and he got the wrestling world talking back in October when he got into a heated confrontation with Gunther at Bad Blood.
Earlier this month Goldberg made a huge announcement when he confirmed that he will be competing in a WWE ring one more time when he wrestles his retirement match in 2025.
During a recent episode of CarCast, Goldberg shared an update on his retirement match and he stated that he thinks people will be pleasantly surprised by the performance he puts on.
“This time, I’m actually getting some prep time and the ability to get ready. Comparatively, even though I’m at the age that I’m at, I will have five times as much time to prepare than I have for any other match. If I can’t get ready in that period of time, with what I have to offer, then it’s not going to be enough. I do believe that I’ve set my standards quite high and at the end of the day, I think people will be pleasantly surprised by the outcome and my performance.”
Goldberg also stated that WWE is allowing him to help plan his retirement match when he added, “There are few things in the world that you get the opportunity to plan out yourself as far as an end game. I get to help plan it. That’s pretty awesome. That puts me in a position where I’m forever grateful.”
