Goldberg made his return to the ring in 2016 and worked an extended program with Brock Lesnar which saw him drop the Universal Title to The Beast Incarnate at WrestleMania 33.
This year Goldberg was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, and he thanked some of the biggest names in the business during his induction speech.
Goldberg also talked about Steve Austin, and during a recent interview with the August Free Press, the former WCW star noted that Austin was the one WWE Superstar he wanted to feud with.
“He was such a big influence through my rise through the ranks. I didn’t copy anyone…but I’d like to have shared the ring with him. He’s the one I wanted to have an angle with.”
Austin vs. Goldberg definitely would have been a dream match when both were at the top of the industry, but unfortunately Austin wrestled his last match the night before Goldberg made his WWE debut.
Triple H didn’t pick up a win this year at WrestleMania, but it’s safe to say that it was an event he will never forget. The Game recently took to Twitter to thank the fans for making this year’s show such a success, and you can see what he had to say below.
