Goldberg may not be a full time wrestler, but he still returns for a few matches each year, and he’s currently involved in a heated feud with WWE Champion Bobby Lashley.
The Hall of Famer has faced some of the biggest names in the history of the business, but there are also a number of big names he’s never clashed with. Goldberg recently spoke to DAZN about his current list of dream opponents, and he revealed that John Cena is at the top of the list.
“Cena, that’s always been a dream. Never been in the ring with him. We’re two completely different characters. Hey, you never know. You never know.”
Originally Goldberg was set to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 36 last year. Instead he ended up facing Braun Strowman after Roman pulled out of the match due to the coronavirus pandemic, but Goldberg still wants to face The Tribal Chief.
“Obviously, I want Roman bad. I want a piece of somebody from Georgia Tech. Like, I can taste it. The comparisons, the football background, I truly believe that’s a match that needs to happen. Am I clamoring for it? Am I begging for it? Am I holding my breath for it? No, I do what my job asks me to do. I do what my boss asks me to do to the best of my ability, and then I ask for them to point me in the next direction. I’m not a booking agent. I’m not on the booking committee. They don’t pay me to be in creative.”
Goldberg will challenge Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam on Saturday, August 21.
